Natural Baby Shower gives back this Christmas
As well as mulled wine, festive music and of course the amazing food, we believe Christmas is also about giving back. At the start of December we embarked on our 12 days of giving, we wanted to give away special treats and gifts to our customers as well as supporting charities we believe in.
We know not everyone’s Christmas may be full of festive cheer, but we wanted to help everyone feel the magic of Christmas this year, so we made it our mission to give back and do something special for those who need it. We teamed up with the amazing people at Stripey Stork to make a difference to the lives of children and parents experiencing hardship. On the 12th day of our 12 days of giving we announced that we would donate 1 item to Stripey Stork for every order placed that day.
But why did we choose Stripey Stork?
The choice was easy! Stripey Stork are an amazing volunteer run charity who are committed to supporting children and family from all sorts of backgrounds who are experiencing hardship. It all started in 2013 by a group of local mums who wanted to see the items their children no longer needed being put to good use, instead of simply ending up in the bin. They now collect new and pre-loved family items for babies, children and parents and then distribute them back into the community to families that need them. Stripey Stork also work alongside health and community professionals who make requests and referrals on behalf of the families in need to Stripey Stork.
The work they do is invaluable to those families that struggle to get the basic essentials for their families. After following their journey Natural Baby Shower decided we wanted to help with their mission. We reached out to them and offered our support for our 12 days of giving.
Your support
On the 12th day of our 12 days of giving, we announced our partnership with Stripey Stork. For every order our customers made on the 12th December we promised to donate an item to Stripey Stork. You showed huge support for our joint mission and helped us make a big difference! You made a total of 190 orders with us on the day, meaning we had the pleasure of donating 190 different baby and family items to families in need. So thank you from everyone at Natural Baby Shower and Stripey Stork for your support!
We went shopping!
With the final order of the day completed and the total number confirmed, off we went shopping! Natural Baby Shower’s very own team went into our warehouse to handpick the 190 brand-new goodies we wanted to donate from our shelves. Every item was thoughtfully picked with the families in mind, from parent essentials to baby clothing varying in size and age, we wanted to donate items that would truly help families of all sizes and ages.
After scouring our warehouse from top to bottom to find the perfect goodies for Stripey Stork it was time to count and tally up our donations. Drum roll please:
- Ergo baby carriers = 8
- Changing Bags = 2
- Baby Shoes = 7
- Swaddles = 20
- Bibs = 15
- Toys = 13
- Towels = 8
- Muslin Squares = 14
- Clothing = 64
- Accessories = 17
- Teethers = 21
- Blankets = 1
Total = 190
After boxing up our donations, we handed them over to Stripey Stork ready for them to distribute them out to families just in time for Christmas. With the help of our customers support, we hope we have made at least one families Christmas and 2019 that little bit happier.
