The Little Green Sheep Natural Twist Cot Mattress Review
The Little Green Sheep Twist mattress is the top selling mattress from Little Green Sheep that is designed to grow with your little one. A firm side provides the optimal support for baby up to 12 months. Then when they grow, you can simply twist the mattress for a more supple, comfy and durable support that will last for years to come. Plus it is made with zero harmful chemicals and uses only natural materials. It’s one of our favourite mattresses but what did our parent testers think?

Following our testing period I was initially highly conscious that I would not be reporting a change of sleep for my son. BOTH our children have been terrible at the whole “sleep” thing and from early on had been dropping day naps- constantly switched on, and finding it difficult to settle. I think we got into bad habits where, due to nursing, I would allow Jasper to fall asleep in my arms/on me so we desperately needed to find a product that could make him feel the comfort of Sleeping on his Mummy!!
Queue the Natural Twist mattress from The Little Green Sheep. I am over the moon to report only positive things about our new and improved sleep routine.
Firstly the communication from Natural Baby Shower was top notch and I felt confident that the product would arrive as described on the website. I really appreciated the tracking aspect which was very user friendly and was done from my mobile phone so I could be available and ready to accept the delivery.
For full disclosure and a truthful review the packaging was slightly dog eared around the edges but nothing that concerned me as very often couriers delivery is very hit or miss (I had worked in logistics for years before becoming a Mummy!!!) - but there was no damage to the product inside. As you can see from the photos it is a high quality, natural looking mattress. The colour was as expected from website photography and the Herringbone cotton cover was even more striking in person. Just from looking at the mattress you could observe it’s supportive and breathable quality. It fitted in the cot as expected. No potentially dangerous spaces. Obviously safe sleep is a very important topic for parents and was something that I was constantly anxious about. Leaving Jasper in the cot for the first time with the mattress (he was 9 months old at time of mattress delivery) I was confident that the mattress was first and foremost SAFE and secondly comfortable for our little wriggler.
With its heat regulating properties, the mattress was fit for purpose during the heat wave period. As you can see from the pictures Jasper is able to easily sleep in various temperature/seasonal conditions. As Jasper has been able to regulate his own body temperature for some time we have happily used the latex layer side up (Toddler mattress side) as we didn’t feel he needed the wool up side. We have been able to note the support that the coconut layer has provided for our son (he has grown at speed compared to our first daughter who was premature and we would have used the wool side up layer for longer for her!) The dual layer aspect is fabulous and something I hadn’t been aware of previously so you know that this mattress will last and grow with your baby (saving money in the long run!) We have been trying to live more sustainably so this has been the perfect product to incorporate into the home and sleep routine.
Having had the product for these last few months it is something I could not imagine not being in our sons life. His sleep has improved (yeah due to nursing he is still up 2/3 time’s a night however he settles so quickly when laid back down.) We had to break the habit of where he used to wake himself up as soon as he was moved from arms to cot, and I believe this product was instrumental in remedying some bad habits. The quality of Jasper’s sleep has improved and my anxiety of leaving him in his own room has decreased. It has been easy to clean. In all honesty I haven’t ventilated the mattress as regularly as suggested on the Natural Baby Shower website.
We have definitely found the mattress to be relatively water resistant so we have added a waterproof mattress protector. The advice provided on the website is very useful.
I would highly recommend both The Little Green Sheep for this intuitive and high quality product (there is clearly a reason that it is award winning and we can see why!) and the Natural Baby Shower for service, communication and stocking products that will make a parents life that much easier!!!

We were so pleased to be selected as a parent tester to review and keep the little green sheep junior mattress.
The product arrived very quickly and securely packaged. We chose the 90x190cm size to be used with Judes new bed, the mattress is very firm and comfortable definitely a little bit of luxury for a toddler, even my older children have loved laying on it. The quality is fantastic I have absolutely no negatives for my review on it.
Jude has loved sleeping in his new bed.

We received the Little Green Sheep natural twist mattress for my daughter Lena, aged 2 to review. From the moment it arrived Lena was excited to open it and test it out. The packaging ensured that the mattress arrived clean and protected. The mattress inside was covered to ensure even if the packaging was damaged that the mattress would be unaffected. We received the cot bed size which fit perfectly in our child’s Silver Cross cot bed.
With something as important as our children’s bedding, you want peace of mind that the mattress is free from chemicals and also supporting your child’s growing body. I would highly recommend this mattress, it is a high quality, well made item.
From the moment it arrived you could see that the mattress cover is made of thick material unlike some other mattresses I have seen. I love the fact that it is dual sided, one side for up to 12 months and the other suitable for toddlers who appreciate a bit more bounce in their mattress. It has pink tabs on either side to indicate which side is suitable for which age. I feel confident that only natural materials are used, something that I feel is important given the number of hours your child spends on their mattress.
The only con to the mattress is that there was a slight natural scent to it upon opening. This is due to the natural materials used and after a day left out of its packaging the scent disappeared.
Lena loved her new mattress and commented how happy she was with it the next morning. Would definitely repurchase the twist mattresses in the future. It is a great concept being able to switch up and use both sides!
