The SmarTrike Traveler Active Stroller instantly transforms from a comfortable infant stroller to a thrilling toddler trike at the push of a button. Made for the most active of little ones, the Traveler is the perfect companion for all kinds of adventures, from smooth city pavements to bumpy, muddy parks.

The SmarTrike is designed to help grow your child’s independence, helping them to graduate from their stroller, to navigating their own trails and pedalling their own tricycle.

Practically, the SmarTrike Active Stroller is durable and made to grow with your child, the extendable seat, integrated leg rest and a variety of removable features ensures a perfect fit at every stage from six months to four years. The large front reel has shock absorber technology to guarantee a smooth ride whatever the terrain – so you and your toddler will be ready to tackle all kinds of adventures.

Safety is key, and the Traveler boasts a five-point harness, integrated bumper bar and a wrist strap for extra security while your little one zooms away. The Traveler isn’t just a stroller, it’s a transformative experience waiting to unfold.

Don’t just take it from us, hear from our parent testers – and their little adventurers – about what they think…

Parent Tester - Kelanne Okoro

The SmarTrike Traveler Active Stroller arrived well packaged in a great sized box, with no extra unnecessary packaging making it more sustainable. When opening the box, the stroller was packaged in its travel bag (which I thought was excellent with being compact) alongside a user guide at the bottom of the box.

The stroller is very easy to assemble together, I only had to assemble a few parts and the user's guide provided were simple to follow with the diagrams. Collapsing the stroller back down is extremely easy to do too and it fits into its travel bag which has access to a shoulder strap to carry around to be hands free. Due to the stroller being extremely compact in its travel bag, it’s comfortable to carry and it only takes up a small amount of space in the boot of our car, which is a bonus.

We used the stroller during our daily walks and also a few times whilst I went shopping which was absolutely amazing and kept my son thoroughly entertained playing with the trike handle bars pretending it was a motorbike, he was moving the handle bars, making motorbike sounds and lots of laughing.

I love that it’s so practical, stylish, 4 in 1, compact and even though it’s small it’s very smooth to push on all types of areas we went, which is a joy to push.

It has 360° front wheel which is a shock absorber.

My son had so much fun over the last few weeks, he seemed happy and comfortable. I loved the integrated leg rests which can easily be changed to the removal pedals, even though my son wasn’t quite tall enough to reach the pedals, he’s 20 months old and 83cm tall. We’re excited for the future for when my son will be tall enough to be able to peddle by himself, although we did go out several times with the pedals attached which my son also loved because he was able to have his legs dangling down instead of resting on the leg rests. The lock/ unlock front wheel is a great feature giving my son some control with moving the trike handlebars yet without compromising my ability to take charge of what direction we’re going.

The large zip pocket on the stroller is great because it fits quite a lot of things in, allowing easy access, whilst still having space free under the pram if I needed to us it.

The 5-point harness made me feel confident in that my son is safe and secure and it was easy to secure my son in, my son was comfortable and it’s great that it’s magnetic, which makes it much easier and less fiddly.

The only downfall with the SmarTrike traveler active stroller I would say is that it doesn’t have a function that the seat can be moved forward, which would enable my son to be able to touch the pedals at this perfect age, and when folding the pram down at times the metal rods which are located in the canopy would detach from the holes causing the canopy to be detached and having to assemble it back together again, but to be honest I think this may be a common problem with quite a lot of compacted strollers which fold down very small.

Overall, the SmarTrike traveler active stroller is absolutely brilliant, and I’d recommend it to other parents, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the weeks of using the stroller and love it, I’m looking forward to using it more. I personally feel that it’s great value for money when considering it’s a 4-1 stroller trike which transforms into the growing stages of a baby/toddler until they’re around 4 years old.

Parent Tester - Laura Pagden

The SmarTrike Traveler Active Stroller arrived quickly and well packaged. The box wasn’t too big and bulky and easy to pick up and move. There wasn’t a lot of unnecessary wrapping/ packaging which I find really annoys me when trying to be more sustainable. The user guide at the bottom of the box was very easy to follow.

Normally my husband puts together anything like this, but I wanted to see if it was as easy to put together as the website said it was and I can confirm it is! The stroller is very easy to assemble with only a few parts to add. It wasn’t time consuming to do and I found it very easy. Collapsing the stroller is as easy as assembling it. It folds down compact and comes with a handy travel bag with a shoulder strap, great for storing in the house or in the boot of a small car.

We used the stroller regularly on the school runs and to and from the park with our dog. My son loved it! He pretended to be driving his bike like his older brother and pretended to beep the horn and ring the bell. He is 23 months old and currently trying to get him into a pram is challenging as he wants to walk everywhere- however I had no issues getting him into the smarTrike stroller! The look and functionality of the stroller was very appealing to him and he was asking to get out far less than a normal pram which was a lifesaver to me! It is incredibly practical and looks so stylish in comparison to other trikes on the market. The 5-point harness is a huge selling point for me that he is safely secure in the stroller and easy to get in and out of.

The stroller is very easy to manoeuvre on all terrain types which is very practical for the estate we live on with gravel, grass and pavement. I have had lots of compliments when at the school gates for the stroller!

My son is quite short for his age so at the moment unable to reach the foot pedals, so the integrated leg rests are very practical for him. The only downfalls of the stroller are that the seat or handlebars cannot be moved, so he struggles to reach the handlebars properly without leaning all the way forward which doesn’t look comfortable for him. I am 5ft11 and would prefer the handlebars to be adjustable as I find I am too close to the stroller and keep knocking into the back of it when walking. These are only minor flaws and should not deter anyone from getting one!

Overall, the smarTrike Traveler Active Stroller is brilliant and I would recommend to anyone wanting something like this. I have really enjoyed using this fantastic product and I love that the stroller has a 4 in 1 functionality and can be adapted into a fully functioning trike when he is old enough to ride it himself. This makes it great value for money! We are going to Disneyland Paris in the Summer and plan on taking this with us- as will be perfect for naps on the go as it reclines to 160 degrees and has the extendable canopy with UPF 50 for sun protection (hopefully!)

Parent Reviewer - Tara Costley

As soon as the SmarTrike Traveler Stroller arrived, my toddler Remy let out an excited squeal! He took one look at the picture on the box and wanted to ride it immediately. Thankfully, it didn’t take long to build so in no time at all, he was pedalling around the house.

It’s a 4-in-1 trike designed to grow with your child and is suitable from 6 months to 4 years. As I have both a 3.5 year-old and a 9-month-old, I was keen to test this product and give my honest feedback.

First Impressions - High quality with clever functionality

I was first struck by its sturdy frame and premium feel. It's definitely a high-quality product. I opted for a gender neutral olive-green colourway, but it comes in a range of lovely colours. My toddler was first to try it out, so after initially testing it in the house, he headed outside to the garden.

Whilst in trike mode, the bumper bar is removed (although sometimes my toddler likes it on) and parent mode is switched off, as the back folds down and the big wheel is free to swivel. Within minutes, my toddler was away and happily exploring while safely strapped into the five-point harness.

Our next challenge was to go further afield and fully test all its features.

Venturing into the great outdoors

The quick-fold is easy to use and the stroller is very compact. It weighs just 7.5kg and comes complete with a carry bag (and a wheel bag) which is ideal for storage and travel, especially if you're heading overseas. Despite being so lightweight, it's remarkably stable, even on uneven terrain thanks to its large front wheel.

We love exploring a National Trust property, so this was the first test for the smarTrike Traveler Stroller. We opened it up in parent mode, with the stroller push bar up and handle bar locked, so we could safely make our way from the car park to a flat surface. We pushed Remy up a large hill, then folded it back down and he was on his merry way. The anti-slip pedals were really helpful and I couldn't believe how easily he made his way across the bumpy ground. I asked him what he thought of the trike, "Great!" he replied. He's been asking to ride it most days since.

Time for the infant test

Although it isn't easy negotiating with a 3-year-old, we did find some time to convince Remy to let his younger sister take the stroller for a ride.

Though I have a baby who doesn't nap, the 160 degree reclining seat is a standout feature allowing little ones to nap comfortably on the go. The stroller also has a luxurious canopy with UPF 50+ protection, making it perfect for sunny days and, most important to us, adventures overseas.

Baby girl loved being sat up which the detachable leg supports in place, gazing out at the trees and plants as we explored the property's grounds. The five-point harness and removable bumper bar meant she was snug and completely secure.

They say the second child is usually the wild one, and I could tell she's looking forward to being in control. I'm sure it'll feel like no time at all before she's learning to pedal herself.

So, would I ditch the pram for this? Yes, I certainly think this is a great alternative to a regular travel pram. It's just as compact (in some cases, more compact) and has the bonus of turning into a trike as she grows. It even has a small underseat basket.

To recap, it's key features are:

4-in-1 functionality: Move from a stroller to a training trike to an independent trike.

Seamless parent/child control: It's effortless to toggle between parent control and child control especially when toddlers are learning to ride or if they get tired.

Smooth ride: The large 360 degree front wheel with a shock absorber means the trike easily navigates bumpy terrain like gravel, grass and mud.

Compact and travel-friendly: Lightweight and complete with a carry bag, it's perfect for life on the go.

Comfort for all ages: The detachable leg supports and 160 degree reclining seat are perfect for infants, while older toddlers benefit from the extendable trike seat and detachable pedals.

Optional accessories: You can also buy a rain cover, cup holder and footmuff to enhance the stroller.

It's obviously been well tested and designed, because it has so many clever features. It's perfect for everyday use as well as adventures abroad.
