We love the Nuna PIPA NEXT i-Size i-Size Car seat and base so much so it’s replaced our existing car seat. Once our order had been placed we received confirmation from Natural Baby Shower advising the car seat and base would be dispatched with DPD who provided us with a one hour delivery slot. The delivery day was an exciting one; two large boxes and attached was a little thank you card from NBS which was a lovely personal touch!
Box one contained the star of the show - Nuna PIPA NEXT i-Size car seat. The car seat was very well packaged within Nuna branded packaging which displayed their mission statement - “From first rides to your next adventure”. When lifting the car seat out of the box I was amazed by how light it was - 2.8kg to be precise!
The second thing I noticed was the high quality and luxurious feel of the fabrics used in particular the merino wool insert against the beautiful, brushed metal and tan handle. It was hard to believe you can find such a great looking car seat that is so lightweight.
The Nuna PIPA NEXT i-Size is available to purchase with the i-Size base which is what we received in the second box. The base was quite large, but is very well built, I was just slightly disappointed to discover that the base wouldn’t fit in my Audi A1 something to consider if you have a smaller car. Luckily, we were able to install the base in my husband’s car and I have since purchased a new car which is compatible.
When installing the car seat in the car it has handy indicators which turn green to show that it has been fitted correctly and is safe to use. Also, a key feature of the i-Size is the built in “wings” which automatically pop up when the car seat it added offering side impact protection. We found the car seat very easy to click in and out of the base especially handy when making multiple short stops in town.
Our first trip out in the new car seat was to the seaside on Father’s Day! My husband installed the base which was super quick whilst I strapped in baby Hugo using the simple 3-point harness which was so easy to adjust to the correct height, carrying him out to the car was a breeze and literally five seconds to click the car seat onto the base.
Baby Hugo was very relaxed on the journey and enjoyed being able to look out of the window before falling asleep before too long. When we arrived, we were able to release the car seat and carry him down to the beach with ease. Another handy feature of this car seat is the “Dream Drape” which pulls out from the canopy and attaches with clever little magnets allowing him to have some uninterrupted sleep. We found this particularly handy on a recent trip to IKEA where we avoided baby Hugo waking up during his nap!
Although we didn’t use the car seat on a frame it is compatible with all the Nuna pushchairs (adapters included) and many other brands if adapters purchased.

We were delighted to be chosen to review the Nuna PIPA NEXT i-Size car seat! The product arrived promptly, packaged in 2 boxes - 1 for the car seat itself and one for the ISOFIX base. Inside the boxes the car seat and base were ready to install in the car with no assembly needed.
The instructions are easy to follow and include pictures to help with installation which we found very handy. The ISOFIX base was fairly straightforward to install, but there was a bit of trial and error to get it into the right position in my car so I’m glad we put it in with plenty of time before baby arrived!
There is also the option to use the car seat with a seatbelt which would be great for travelling, in a taxi for example. This product has lots of safety features which is so important to us. We love that the base has indicators that show as green if it has been installed correctly or red if not. There’s also an indicator to show whether the seat has been correctly put onto the base. As first-time parents this is brilliant for our peace of mind. The car seat is not only practical with all the necessary safety features but looks great too.
The newborn insert and the padding on the straps are lovely and soft and the extendable hood is great for keeping the sun out of baby’s eyes. The only slight setback is that the magnets that hold the hood in the fully extended position don’t always stay put very well as the fabric has to be pulled quite tight, but this is a very minor thing and doesn’t affect daily use.
We also love how lightweight this car seat is, making it super easy to manoeuvre. Overall, we are very happy with this car seat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
