The bbhugme Maternity Support Belt is designed and developed by female chiropractors specializing in pre-natal healthcare. When you wear it your belly, pelvis and lower back get that little extra oomph they need to help make it more comfortable for you to go about your day. We were so excited to hear the news that bbhugme have put their expert knowledge, years of experience and professional chiropractor expertise together to create the perfect maternity support belt. But what did our trusted parent testers make of the new bbhugme maternity support belt?
Parent Tester - Casey Carr
First of all, the item came in a cute, small, high quality pop out box with all the details of the item on. This is handy as there's no unnecessary waste of packaging and/or an information leaflet as it's all located on the one box.
The colour and size were both as described. I chose a black belt in an XL size, as I measure just on the outline for L/XL. It fits perfect with a little bit of stretch for extra growth which is fab as I still have a couple months left to grow.
The product itself is a nice and sleek design and very comfortable once in use. You can adjust the tightness of the belt support at the bottom, by a velcro strap on either side, which is handy to alter as you grow.
It is very easy to use, just slides up your legs and over your bump. The only minor problem I could think of would be that there is nothing to tell/show you how/where to place it correctly. However, I did figure it out by looking at the multiple diagrams on the packaging and keeping it where felt most comfortable and supportive for my body.
It is a very handy little belt to add some extra support and take some strain off our growing/changing bodies. It’s also very comfortable to wear under clothing to provide support all day long.

I wasn’t sure about how beneficial a support belt would be but after weeks of weak hips and pain I was willing to give anything a go.
The bbhugme belt arrived in beautiful recyclable packaging. The belt itself felt very well made. It doesn’t come with any instructions so it took me a little while to get the positioning right. But Natural Baby Shower, google and YouTube were very helpful.
Once I had the belt comfortable, I found the support really helpful. Before wearing the belt I was really suffering post walk, especially in the evening after an active day. Wearing the belt has given me support while I walk and much less pain in the evening.
I’m normally a size 10 and fell between the small and the medium. I decided to order the M/L and it has fitted well. The velcro makes it easy to adjust.
The black colour means it isn’t as noticeable against my clothes which has been great especially with black leggings, essential maternity wear! The belt feels very well made and even after weeks of wear it still looks like new, no loose stitching or bobbling.
The only con is the price, but having also tried a support from the physio, I feel this gives so much more support. I was dubious at first, but I’ve been completely won over.
* It is worth noting that you shouldn’t wear the belts for more than a few hours at a time, otherwise your muscles could get used to having that support.
