Aden + anais recently introduced their game changing sleeping bag, the snug fit sleeping bags. This newborn sleeping bag is designed to help babies (and parents) enjoy uninterrupted sleep with a comforting cosiness that mimics the secure feeling of the womb. The 1.5 tog sleeping bag is made from a 100% cotton quilted knit that fits snugly on the upper body and arms, providing baby with a comforting weighted warmth without overheating. But we wanted to know if it really did help to settle little ones at night, so we put it to the test with 3 of our trusted parent testers. Keep reading to find out what they thought of the snug fit sleeping bag from aden + anais…

Remy has always been a very wriggly baby, often startling herself awake and kicking off any blankets. As soon as she turned a few months old, we transitioned her from swaddles to sleeping bags, and they have become a bedtime staple for us. Therefore, I was very excited to receive the Snug Fit Sleeved Sleeping Bag by Aden + Anais.

The product arrived beautifully and securely packaged – brown paper bag with the sleeping bag tissue wrapped – I always appreciate the small details when it comes to packaging. It also came with its own branded hanger, which is ideal for daytime storage. The care label shows clear guidance and instructions, including a very handy TOG chart, to help understand which tog is best for different temperatures.

The first thing I noticed was the sleeping bag itself is incredibly soft and very cosy. I can feel the quality difference compared to other brands of sleeping bag we have tried.

I chose the white and mint colourway as I like gender neutral colours and you can’t beat a baby in white can you?

My favourite thing about this sleeping bag compared to others, is the snug fit and the fact that it has sleeves! It fits so snuggly around Remy’s upper body and arms, which also helps to control her startle reflex. She’s currently 4 months old and weighing in at 16lbs, and the 3-6 month size is a perfect fit, with some space for growth.

The 1.5 tog also makes it ideal for this autumn season, to help keep Remy warm enough without overheating.

The zip is securely concealed and opens from the bottom, which is ideal for nappy changes in the night with minimum disturbance.

The only negative I have, is that they don’t come in adult sizes.

Our lovely aden + anais snug fit sleepbag was sent to us quickly from Natural Baby Shower, beautifully packaged and presented. We were excited to try it out with autumn weather well on the way! The lovely quilted feel to the sleep bag keeps Ochre cosy warm and comfy, we especially loved the added warmth of the long sleeve arms and the fitted shape of the bag.

It is now our go-to sleep bag of an evening. Night changes are made super easy with the handy zip opening at the bottom, this means we don’t need to be bothering her around the neck. Ochre prefers to sleep on her front and seems perfectly comfy and able to move about to her preferred position through the night.

My husband has actually said he would happily sleep in one if they did adult sizes as it's so soft, snuggly and comfy! It certainly become our favourite piece of nighttime wear for our little one! We couldn’t recommend it enough.

We were kindly gifted the Aden & Anais snug fit sleeved sleeping bag to test and review. It arrived pretty quickly and came in a brown paper package, which is so much easier to recycle. The sleeping bag itself came on a cardboard hanger which I think is a really cute idea, although I was so eager to get into it and get Mila to try it I completely forget to get a photo of it.

We’ve had the sleeping bag for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I really like it. We have a couple of different sleeping bags but the main thing I love about this one is that the zip is at the front which makes for changing her nappy in the night so much easier, and that it has sleeves.

There were 3 colours to choose from and usually I’m a typical grey girl but for a change we went for the cream and mint and I’m glad we did because its a lovely colour, the outside is cream with mint stitching and the inside the soft mint colour.

I did think about sizing up but figured we would rather get the use out of it now otherwise it would be too large for her, so we chose the 3-6 months and it fits her perfectly, even her hands poke out the arm holes - yes I know you must be thinking ‘isn't that supposed to happen with sleeves’ and you’d be right it is, but Mila has really short arms and I am forever rolling up her sleeves.

The sleeping bag comes with a tag explaining all the benefits and sizing of the sleeping bags in this range. We have the 1.5 tog which is great at the moment with a thin blanket, but I would love to get the 2.5 tog for the colder months.

With the zip being directly in the front it’s easy to get Mila in and out of it, the zip also runs from top to bottom. The end part which is situated at the top is covered by a piece of fabric so that it doesn’t irritate her while she sleeps. The actual zip itself is down the bottom out of the way, again covered by a piece of fabric so it is tucked out of the way. This doesn’t affect her while she sleeps but its still easy to access.

The fabric is lovely and soft which is so important especially when your baby is sleeping in it, nobody wants a grouchy baby in the morning because they’ve slept uncomfortably. Mila has a good night sleep when she’s in this sleeping bag, granted she’s teething so we never get a full night sleep but I know that when I put her down in her sleeping bag she’s cosy and comfy.

It’s great through the wash. I wash all of Mila’s clothes on a 20 or 30 wash (because I have previously shrunk some things of hers), I followed the instructions and turned the sleeping bag inside out and zipped it up and it came out great.

I would definitely recommend these to friends and family for their little ones, mostly because I just love that it has sleeves to keep their little arms warm.
