aden + anais recently introduced a brand new cotton-rich fabric perfect for newborns, their comfort knit collection. The super soft, breathable fabric has just the right amount of stretch, designed to keep your baby feeling comfy and secure. We sent a newborn bundle of the knotted gown, matching hat and swaddle blanket to some our of parent testers to see what they thought…

I was really thrilled to be asked to review this new Aden + Anais product for Natural Baby Shower. The package came promptly in the post in fully recyclable packaging and nice pretty wrapping from Aden + Anais.
Firstly, I’ll tell you about my experience of the Knotted Gown. The material is unlike any other sleepsuit I’ve come across; it’s super soft and stretchy (& cuddly!). I think that we’ll get more wear out of this because of the stretch, often with traditional sleepsuits you blink and miss the window of them perfectly fitting babies. Particularly with Hallie, she’s quite tall and so her toes tend to poke the bottom of some sleepsuits and yet be baggy everywhere else - so this stretchy material and tie bottom solves this. It’s great for snoozy days at home, although it may not be ideal to travel in due to the tie bottom and practicalities of a car seat.
The neckline is stretchy, so easy to pop over little heads and it doesn’t gape like some baby grows can and the tie bottom means no hassle of poppers - extra handy if it’s night time nappy changes.
Last few points to add are that it has the essential inbuilt scratch mits for newborns and on warmer days you can un-tie the knot and have their legs free, which was particularly useful over this warm Easter weekend.
The hat fits differently to most other newborn hats I’ve used, it’s stretchy and fitted, this means it does stay on better, but some babies might not like the tighter fit on their head. The design of the hat with the tie at the top mirrors the tie at the bottom of the gown which is a nice touch and makes this set really adorable.
I should say that I’m a fan of the ‘perennial’ pattern, the soft shades of pink and grey are really pretty. The Swaddle Blanket is my new favourite blanket for Hallie, it’s great that it can be thinner opened up and it’s big enough to fold over to make thicker, making it good for all seasons.
The size of the blanket and the stretchy material make great for swaddling, giving them the ability to have a little wriggle but still be snug enough to doze off. It’s a blanket we’ll continue to use for years to come, it’s large enough that I can imagine wrapping a toddler in it.
I had a great love for aden + anais muslins before testing this new product and I can honestly say this has made me an even bigger fan of this quality brand.

I’m Donna mummy to Patience who is 4 weeks old and Isaac who is 4. We were thrilled to test the Aden & Anais Comfort Knit bundle.
The first thing that struck me about the bundle was how soft and stretchy the fabric is, making it perfect for baby. I loved all the different colourful designs these come in, but in the end I choose the Perennial which is so pretty, perfect for girls.
The super cute knotted gown is easy at nappy changes due to the tie at the bottom. The stretchy fabric allows you to get baby in and out easy without the need to pull over baby’s head, plus the hat is easy to get on baby’s head due to the handy stretchy material.
The fit is also really nice making it snuggly and secure for baby, overall I think it’s a really cute set and I love it.
The matching blanket can be purchased separately and is a generous size, perfect for warmer days but big enough to double up on colder days. Again, this is super snuggly and soft for baby.
Both wash really well which is really important and has remained the same as day one after more than a month of use. I love the super stylish print so will be well used.
