The Joolz Hub+ is truly a urban and comfortable pushchair. But what did our parent testers make of the brand new Joolz Hub+ pushchair?
Parent Tester – Jade Welch
I was thrilled to be selected to be a parent tester for the Joolz Hub+, it came at the perfect time as my son was just turning 6 months and needed to upgrade from the previous travel system we were using. I was on the look out for a stylish 1 piece pram that didn’t need assembling / disassembling every time we got in and out of the car and for my son, Albie to be sat upright, it’s safe to say the Joolz Hub+ is everything I could have wanted.
The pram arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The box cleverly had the design of a bus on the outside to encourage little ones to reuse and get creative with, we all know how much kids love empty boxes!
I opened the box while my partner was out and admittedly, I was worried I would struggle to assemble the Joolz Hub+ on my own, but I needn’t worry. One smooth motion after removing the protective packaging and the Hub+ was built, this was a huge bonus as I remember the two of us struggling to build our previous pram. Parts of the Joolz Hub+ had bubble wrap and protective foam to ensure everything was kept in perfect condition during shipping. A detailed instruction manual was included to help with all aspects of assembling.
One of the first features to catch my attention was the harness seatbelt, as mentioned this was the first upright pram I had used and I was not used to Albie being so exposed. These straps are extremely secure, no amount of wriggles (or tantrums) would allow him to escape. They are easily adjustable to grow with him over time.
Another key feature that I have not seen on another pram before was the LED lights, receiving the Hub+ in November meant that going out while it was dark was inevitable. These lights, reflective strips on the wheels and hood are a great safety feature when walking. I have also loved the bumper bar, I have been attatching toys to it to stop them falling on the floor, Albie naturally holds on when were walking and it unhinges to one side to help lift baby in and out.
On my first trip out with the Joolz Hub+ I noticed straight away how smooth it was to push, it felt incredibly lightweight and turned tight corners, went up and down curbs with ease . The combination of larger rear wheels and front swivel wheels works perfectly. As a 5’11 woman the extendable handle bar has been amazing, it makes the bar the perfect height for me to push comfortably fully extended.
The Joolz Hub+ has 3 reclining positions. I have found that I use the upright and lying flat position the most for Albie, he loves looking around and feeling involved in the upright position, now that he's learning to sit he want to be sat up all the time. I absolutely love that the Hub+ lies completely flat, this is perfect for naps when out and I have also found it work perfectly as a changing station.
The hood to the Hub+ retracts fully so you have full access to the pram, unlike some strollers, this means I can do nappy changes and dress Albie in and out of his pram suit with ease. The hood also fully covers Albie when he is lying flat sleeping and provides UVF50+ protection.
The Joolz Hub+ is as easy to fold down as it is up. Once collapsed there is a handy carry bar and a strap, these have both been a very used feature of the pram. When folded down the Hub+ fits perfectly in our hatchback boot with space still available.
An area on the Joolz Hub+ that I was unsure about a first was the basket, this looked quite small compared to my fist pram. After using the Hub+ for some time now I can say the size hasn’t been an issue. The basket has a helpful design that allows you to lower the side to put larger object like a changing bag in easily.
Overall as you can tell I am extremely impressed with the Joolz Hub+, its’s been the perfect addition to our everyday lives. We love it so much that when there is a baby No.2 we will be purchasing the carry cot, the pram seems very durable so I am sure we will get all the use we need out of if. Thank you Natural Baby Shower for giving us the opportunity to test this wonderful product, if you’re considering purchasing the Joolz Hub+ I highly recommend you do.
