All prams and pushchairs should have a safety label to show that they comply with the relevant British Standards of safety requirements and test methods for wheeled child conveyances - BS EN 1888: 2012 or BS EN 1888: 2003. Every pushchair we stock meets these standards.

But the most important thing is to think about your lifestyle, what you are going to use the pushchair for and your families needs to find the perfect one for you that is worth the money you are spending.

At around 6 months old. Signs to look out for include, when your baby can sit up unaided, when they are able to control their head/neck movements and can fit comfortably within the seat unit safety harness.

However, some seat units are not completely flat so you may feel they’re not suitable for your newborn or baby, so it’s best to check to see exactly how flat the seat unit is and if you’d like to use it from birth. It’s worth remembering that buying a compatible carrycot will offer the ideal lie-flat position for babies.

There has been significant interest in lightweight strollers over the past few years. A lightweight stroller, which provides an easy-to-use solution for everyday usage with older babies and toddlers who have outgrown their pushchair/carrycot, was formerly often a secondary purchase following a newborn pushchair or travel system. However, there are now a lot of fantastic lightweight models that can be used from birth, giving parents the choice to choose a lightweight model from the beginning. Most strollers do not weigh more than 7kg with the seat attached, and they are typically lightweight and fold small for storage, whether it be in your home, or on public transportation.

The age where you will need to stop using you stroller will depend on the brand and model. While there isn't a set age where little ones can use a stroller until, little ones tend to transition out of strollers around 4 years old.

Most strollers offer a bassinet or lie-flat mode which allows you to use with your newborn, right from day one. These strollers can interchange on the chassis to accomodate a bassinet, carrycot or newborn cocoon to make your newborn more secure with a firm yet flat surface. Other stroller model, commonly travel strollers feature seat units only making them suitable for little ones who have some neck control or can sit unsupported, which usually happens around 6 months old.
